It consists of the cadastral territories of Brno-město (the historic center of the city), Staré Brno, Stránice, Štýřice and Veveří and parts of Černá Pole, Pisárky, Trnitá and Zábrdovice. The city district thus overlaps to a certain extent with the area of the city of Brno in the years 1850-1919.
