Velenje

Carinthia (Slovene: Koroška [kɔˈɾóːʃka] ; German: Kärnten), also Slovene Carinthia or Slovenian Carinthia (Slovenska Koroška), is a traditional region in northern Slovenia. The term refers to the small southeasternmost area of the former Duchy of Carinthia, which after World War I was allocated to the State of Slovenes, Croats and Serbs according to the 1919 Treaty of Saint-Germain.

Velenje Castle (Slovene: Velenjski grad) is a well-preserved castle in Velenje, Slovenia that was owned by the Kunšperk family, followed by their Ptuj relatives and the Lichtenberg family. The castle houses a museum of art and culture.

Mislinja (pronounced [miˈsliːnja]; German: Missling) is a settlement in northern Slovenia. It is the seat of the Municipality of Mislinja.

The Barbara Pit massacre (Slovene: Pokol v Barbara rovu, Croatian: Pokolj u Barbarinom rovu), also known as the Huda Jama massacre, was the mass killing of prisoners of war of Ante Pavelić's NDH Armed Forces and the Slovene Home Guard, as well as civilians, after the end of World War II in Yugoslavia in an abandoned coal mine near Huda Jama, Slovenia. More than a thousand prisoners of war and some civilians were executed by the Yugoslav Partisans during May and June 1945, following the Bleiburg repatriations by the British.

Nova Cerkev (pronounced [ˈnɔːʋa ˈtseːrkɛu̯]) is a settlement in the Municipality of Vojnik in eastern Slovenia. It lies on the left bank of the Hudinja River northwest of Vojnik off the main road to Velenje.
