Hidden gems in Nantes

The Passage Pommeraye is a small shopping arcade in central Nantes, France, named after its property developer, Louis Pommeraye. Construction started at the end of 1840 and was completed on 4 July 1843.

The île de Nantes (French pronunciation: [il də nɑ̃t], Island of Nantes) is an island located in the centre of the city of Nantes, France, surrounded by two branches of the river Loire: the "bras de la Madeleine" (branch of the Madeleine) to the north, and the "bras de Pirmil" (branch of Pirmil) to the south. It is one of the eleven neighbourhoods of Nantes.

Tour Bretagne (Brittany Tower in English) opened on November 18, 1976, at 17:00, is a 37-story skyscraper situated in downtown Nantes between a main thoroughfare, Cours des 50 Otages, and Place Bretagne (Brittany square). With a total height of 144 meters (472 feet), it dominates the skyline of the city of Nantes and is the third tallest building in France outside of Paris, after Tour Part-Dieu in Lyon and CMA CGM Tower in Marseille.

The Fine Arts Museum of Nantes (French: Musée d'Arts de Nantes), along with 14 other provincial museums, was created, by consular decree on 14 Fructidor in year IX (31 August 1801). Today the museum is one of the largest museums in the region.

Place Royale is a historic square in the city centre of Nantes, France. Designed in 1786 by local architectMathurin Crucy, it was constructed in 1790 after the demolition of the medieval ramparts.
