Iceland has no railways, although there have been two small locomotive hauled narrow-gauge railways in the past. The main reasons for the lack of railways are the small population outside the capital region and the availability of automobile, bus, and air transportation for inter-city travel.

Höfði (Icelandic pronunciation: [ˈhœvðɪ]) is a house in Reykjavík, Iceland, built in 1909, and best known as the location for the 1986 Reykjavík Summit meeting of President Ronald Reagan of the United States and General Secretary Mikhail Gorbachev of the Soviet Union. Though technically a failure, the meeting was an important step towards ending of the Cold War.

Tjörnin (Icelandic pronunciation: [ˈtʰjœ(r)tnɪn] ) is a small, prominent lake in central Reykjavík, the capital of Iceland. Most visitors to the city pass along its shore, as it is situated in the city centre next to the Reykjavik City Hall and several museums.
